One of Pattaya’s most endearing features are the number of diverse attractions and shows in and around the city. It seems as though every month yet a new tourist attraction opens, with a different theme and even more extravagant features. One such place is the superb Pattaya Sheep Farm, located only twenty minutes from Pattaya City, located between Highway 7 and Highway 36. It is the ideal location, so close to Pattaya and yet only a 1hr drive from Bangkok.
The Sheep Farm is set in an expansive 90 rai of land and is perfect for the whole family, especially younger kids. In fact if any youngster is under 110cm they get access free, but at 60 baht for normal entrance fee, the Farm is a bargain anyway. There is something to keep everybody interested and engaged, from the Petting Zoo, and Sheep House, to the Activities Zone and Horse Riding. For adults there is the Barn Steak House, Shopping Zone and the huge Boating Lake complete with Duck Pedalos. The Pattaya Sheep Farm does not just feature sheep, there are ponies, horses, donkeys, white buffalos, deer, rabbits, pygmy hogs, guinea pigs and soon to open are animal and bird shows.
One of the great features of the Sheep Farm is the wonderful Barn Steak House, it is seriously worth considering visiting the site just to partake in a lunch or an evening meal. The Barn serves some serious food, excellently presented and superbly cooked to your order. Choices vary from succulent steaks, delicious lamb chops, pastas, salads, authentic German sausage and mash with sauerkraut, a full Thai menu and all fantastic value for money. If the Barn Steak House was situated in central Pattaya then it would have a queue outside the door trying to gain entrance. The frontage of the restaurant is impressive, reminiscent of a western American barn with two tiered glass windows flooding the interior with natural light. And just like the rest of the Sheep Farm the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much bother. Amazingly the 110cm rule is also applicable in the restaurant, any children under this height eat for free if their accompanying adult orders a main meal from the menu.
The Sheep Farm has two more attractions coming around June / July 2017. There is to be two new shows for visitors to see, an animal show and a bird show. Top animal and bird trainers have been employed to give world class displays with the animals. Of course the children who visit will be able to get close up to the furry and feathered friends whilst they perform tricks and partake in games. The Pattaya Sheep Farm is ideal for any age, as you might expect it gets quite busy at weekends with visitors from Bangkok, but as it is on Pattaya’s doorstep a visit midweek is highly recommended. All of Global Tops condominium developments are in fairly close proximity to the Sheep Farm and only a short taxi ride away. If you are at a loose end one weekend or thinking of where next you can take the family to for good clean fresh air fun, then the Pattaya Sheep Farm is the perfect venue.
