It is not difficult to understand why, as Pattaya is not just a beach resort. It is home to many first class cabaret shows, top music venues, high-tech theatres, cuisines around the world, sporting occasions, festivals, golf courses and the list goes on and on.
The Global Top Group recognised Pattaya’s potential thirty five years ago and that is why they now have seven quality condominium developments in and around the city to suit all tastes. Whether you prefer city living near all the excitement of Pattaya’s entertainment zone or taking it easy by the beach, Global Top have the right development for you.
However, Pattaya is situated perfectly on the eastern seaboard for short day trips should you want to explore a little more of Thailand on your visit. In this blog we look at some of the options open to you.
Coral Island or Koh Larn is a really popular day out from Pattaya. If you are in a group party then a speedboat is a great way to get there and back. You will see the water turning an incandescent blue as you head out across Pattaya Bay, and the crystal clear water is perfect for scuba diving around the island. The beaches of Coral Island are superb and far less crowded than Pattaya, sit back and relax or enjoy the many watersports on offer.
Khao Kheow Zoo is less than an hours drive from Pattaya, and its claim to fame is that it is the largest zoo on the planet. There are two official tours one in the morning and the other in the afternoon each with round trip transfer included from your Pattaya hotel.
There are over 8,000 animals to be seen on the tram tour around the zoo which you can recognise from the earlier presentation before the tour. 300 species live in the 2,000 acre zoo, and there are various animal shows and educational lectures to learn all about animal conservation and wildlife management.
One or two companies offer this tour that lets you discover more of the surrounding areas of Pattaya. The tour is highly recommended for those new to the City and Chonburi.
The tour first takes you to Bang Saen which is a sleepy little town 30 minutes north of Pattaya. The beaches are less crowded than Pattaya and the tour takes you to Bang Saen Aquarium then on to Monkey Cliff followed by Ang Sila a small fishing community famous for its oyster farms.
The tour guide will take you to small markets and visit local fishing villages that is a taste of real rural Thailand and a glimpse of what Pattaya was like seventy years ago.
These are just three of the options open for you on day tours from Pattaya. An hour in any direction will take you to wondrous and exciting places just waiting to be explored, from deserted tropical islands to busy regional towns, the hinterland of Pattaya has many things to offer.
